I have sent a comment by email but it looks like it has been ignored: most conference centers still have 4:3 configurations, so switching to 16:9 would be a problem for all people speaking at conferences (with a few exceptions). There should be a resizing feature which allows to switch from 4:3 to 16:9 without changing the aspect ratio of iterms on the slide (which is what happens today). A large slide with more white space is not a problem, and is often acceptable, as much as a narrower slide with less white space.
