Hi Jens,

there is a bug in libssl version 0.9.8:

zlib compression does work correctly anymore in multi-process env. due
problem with mem. allocation functions. Fix: disable compression.
    (see http://www.aet.tu-cottbus.de/rt2/NoAuth/Buglist.html - subscription is
required)

openser automatically turns off the zlib compression for this version (and that warning is generated). Maybe you have different libssl version on the two machines; it has nothing to do with the architecture.

regards,
bogdan

Hello list,

on 64 bit systems I always get this following warning:

Nov 23 13:46:25 xxx openser: WARNING:init_tls: disabling compression due
ZLIB problems

I use the latest cvs checkout form version 1.1.0.

I never get this on 32 bit systems and it's all distribution the same:

Debian Etch:
        cpu : AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3700+
        kernel: 2.6.17
        zlib : 1.2.3-13

OpenSUSE 10.1:
        cpu : Intel(R) Pentium(R) D
        kernel: 2.6.16
        zlib : 1.2.3-13

Maybe anybody knows why I get this warning?

Regards
        Jens
