The Mbuni Kannel patch has been updated on Mbuni CVS (details here: http://www.mbuni.org/downloads.shtml) and should be put out at next release.
The latest Mbuni Kannel patch also has a small fix to the MIME libary that might be useful for those using the kannel MIME library in HTTP applications. (There was a small problem with generation of MIME boundaries.)
