[e-smith-devinfo] Imp mail...

Hello all,
I have searched the experienced forum for some direction on this problem,
which brings me to the source. A colleague contacted me after he attempted
to update the IMP package on his e-smith 4.1.2 server, with the new version
from Horde.org, which is used primarily for email. He also, around the same
time of IMP upgrade, applied the "How to increase the attachment file size
in webmail and other PHP apps". So this leaves me w/no way of knowing which
event caused the following error when attempting to connect to the webmail,

"Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_pconnect() in
/home/httpd/horde-phplib/db_mysql.inc on line 73"

My experience in the past with php apps that have similar failures are the
mysql database user and password are involved. What mysql database-name,
database user name and password are created for IMP when e-smith is
installed? Also, can one just install the new version of IMP w/out
e-smithizing it?

If someone knows any of the above, I would grateful for some help. Also, if
someone know exactly how to solve the connection problem I would be
extremely grateful.

If this is not the correct place to post this, please advise me.
