Hello Tiffanitsa and all:I have a good guess why this is happening though I am not sure why you cannot click on the stop or continue buttons ... which are the ones you should be seeing.
If you are getting such a situation, the computer believes that one of the programs you are attempting to toss out in the trash is being used by some other program. if it thinks that some program is using a file in the trash it will not toss it out and will attempt to ask you what you want to do with the empty trash function ... aka ... stop or continue.
Restarting your computer will probably work because the file will be released from the program it is supposedly using.
Good luck. On Jan 29, 2009, at 2:32 PM, Tiffany D wrote:
I don't know why, but sometimes, when I delete something, I get this empty trash dialogue. When I try to read it it just says list. I try to interact with the list and get operation progress. I go further and it just says image. When I hit tab it says continue and stop but no matter what I try, nothing works. It just gets stuck. I've tried VO and space, enter and even command VO f5 and then VO shift space but nothing. The only way for me to get out of it is to force quit finder. Usually, when I empty the trash, I can delete things again but this time, it's not working. I did a force quit finder and tried to empty trash but the button is dimmed. I'm gonna restart and then try again. Does anyone know what's going on here? Thanks, Tiffanitsa
Take good care and I wish you enough. Love Me
