OK Garey the ground is there. The pots both check about 520K ohms across the
full windings and checking at the center terminal, the back pot checks
0-520K ohms. The front pot nearest the panel checks 0-15K ohms across the full
range. I must have a problem somewhere else.

Terry -
On CW the GAIN control varies a DC bias on the Balanced Modulator diodes
to "unbalance" them. Perhaps that section of the GAIN control has lost
it's ground. That section isn't used for any other function.
