Each method of buying and selling has pro and con.? The HF swap nets, the Drake Nets,?the Drake Reflector, and hamfests seem to build friendships between buyers and sellers and the transactions seem to be very, very successful.? That personal interaction might be a contributing factor.? I can remember most (not all)?of the people that I bought?things from at hamfests and on the air.? In contrast, the auction sites breed a certain amount of anonymity and limited interaction, which is somewhat counter to the spirit of ham radio, which includes communication.? I'm not sure I can remember anybody I ever bought things from on Upay, I mean eBay.? Still, one should just follow the path that suits them best and not force others to follow them.? Let's all enjoy the Drake gear! -----Original Message----- From: Gary Poland <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Mon, 21 Apr 2008 3:34 pm Subject: Re: [drakelist] Parting out radios "Gary Poland" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> made an utterance to the drakelist gang? ----------------------------------------------------------------------? Take it or leave it Ebay and sites like it are here to stay ... but its sad that the hamfests are dying away because of it. If I had the choice I would rather have the hamfests back.? ? 73, Gary W8PU? http://home.cinci.rr.com/w8pu? ? ? ----------------------------------------------------------------------?
