Garey Barrell <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> made an utterance to the drakelist gang ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Peter -Most likely ripple on the calibrator divider power supply. There are two electrolytic caps involved, 1000 uF (C190) under the chassis, and 200 uF (C192) on the calibrator board itself. As it's intermittent, it could be either a bad ground return (bad solder or loose grounding hardware) or a voltage threshold varying because of line voltage variations. If the caps are original, their ESR is almost certainly very high. While you're in there, it wouldn't hurt to replace the rectifier (D16) as well.

Peter Holtham <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> made an utterance to the drakelist gang----------------------------------------------------------------------Thanks Garey, it turned out to be dead easy to adjust the dial using your instructions. All bands are ok now.I have one other intermittent weird problem with calibration. Sometimes, and especially on 15m & 10m, the calibrator gives wall to wall signals. It sounds like the gunfight at the OK Corral as you tune the dial, with ricochets from all the calibrator signals. This time it started on 80m after I made the dial adjustment. Then it stopped. Must be a dodgy connection somewhere.73 Peter VK4COZ
