Phil,
  The S Meter becomes an ALC indicator in transmit. 
  The VOX delay in CW was never enough in my oppinion. The only way to increase 
the delay and have some control over it is by mounting a pot in one of the 
extra holes in the back of the TR-4 and some extra capacitance.  Check this out
