[Drakelist] Microphone Jack Trivia

I don't recall seeing this question asked but why did the Drake Co. choose
to use a smaller mic jack on the T-4 line?  Surely someone out there knows
the answer.

 

Please feel free to direct any comments, including flames, for asking a such
trivial question, off the reflector.  I've already have used up too much
bandwidth.
