Good morning friends neighbors and fellow Drakers
I picked up a pretty darned clean R4B from a live auction last week. It was
tagged working.. well..
okay so after a thorough scrubbing of the bandswitch it came to life but..
it only receives well with the avc OFF. When you place it in avc slow or fast
the S meter moves to S-9 and stays there. The rx signal strength drops to near
zero.
All tubes check good.
Has anyone observed this before and if so, any helpful hints will be greatly
appreciated.
and why does that 6EH5 audio tube run scalding hot?
