Gentle persons: I hadn't intended to review the man pages but several recent experiences convinced me I should.
This message covers editorial issues I found reviewing on http://www.linuxcnc.org/docs/2.5/ concerning the (English) "Commands and userspace components" listed in index.html. I will break with my previous practice and list only the pages for which I have comments. --- comp.1 (man/man1/comp.1.html) In "SEE ALSO" there are several references that need to be updated. "Comp: A tool for creating HAL components in the emc2 documentation" probably refers to what is now known as the "COMP HAL Component Generator" in the Integrator Manual. Similarly, "Creating Userspace Python Components with the 'hal' module" probably refers to what is now known as the "Creating Userspace Python Components" in the HAL Manual. There seems to be a spurious new-line preceding the line containing this reference. --- gladevcp.1 (man/man1/gladevcp.1.html) in "SEE ALSO" the reference "GladeVCP in the emc2 documentation..." probably refers what is now known as the "Glade Virtual Control Panel" in the Integrator Manual. --- gs2.1 (man/man1/gs2.1.html) In "USAGE" the reference "See the EMC2 Integrators Manual..." probably refers to what is now known as the "GS2 Driver" in the Integrator Manual. --- pyvcp.1 (man/man1/pyvcp.1.html) In "SEE ALSO" the reference "Virtual Control Panels in the emc2 documentation..." probably refers to what is now known as the "Python Virtual Control Panel" in the Integrator Manual. --- shuttlexpress.1 (man/man1/shuttlexpress.1.html) I don't have a comment about this man page but rather about the rest of the EMC2 documentation. I couldn't find any information about the ShuttleXpress or this driver in the Integrator Manual. In the HAL Manual, I found only the "shuttlexpress" entry in "HAL Components/1. Commands and Userspace Components", which doesn't link to anything. --- That's it for Commands and userspace components.
