Blaenau Ffestiniog has one, and a narrow-gauge railway. Slightly closer is the Tallylyn railway. Wales isn't big but it's fairly slow to cross. From Hay it's 60 miles to the Ironbridge Gorge open air museum. That is where the Industrial Revolution kicked off, and would be high on my list. - https://www.ironbridge.org.uk/visit/ There are _lots_ of castles. My favourite in the area of Hay is Raglan Castle. But also worth a look is the tiny Castell Bronllys, very close to Hay. I visited once when the steps had been removed, and it was instructive just how effective it was as a defence. Not on your list, but close, is an area of show caves. I especially like Cathederal Cave as being a good illustration of why cavers (like myself) like caves. https://www.showcaves.co.uk/cathedral_cave.html (easy walking, big and roomy, very pretty) -- atp "A motorcycle is a bicycle with a pandemonium attachment and is designed for the especial use of mechanical geniuses, daredevils and lunatics." — George Fitch, Atlanta Constitution Newspaper, 1912 _______________________________________________ Emc-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users
