We've produced a lot of
ideas here, and we seem to be trending toward one machine. However, since
we're spread all over the continent, just getting enough people in one place
to create the thing seems to be a problem.
Solution: How about
anyone with a possible approach just going ahead with it? A professor of mine
challenged me thusly: "Do what you can where you are with what you
have!" Nothing wrong with having half a dozen trials in half a dozen
places with half a dozen pieces of machinery. Where I am I doubt if I can
locate some of the stuff being described, but I have a couple of very good
high schools to challenge with the project. Joe Latrell has some sources and
experience, others are weighing in with their specialities, and still others
have other resources. Byrne is in Alaska, Hibai Unzueta is in Spain, Crawley
is in Texas, and so on (if I didn't mention you, don't worry about it) but so
what? Each can proceed independently with the eventual melding of all the trials.

Nevada, all by myself out here in the boonies. And I'm 400 miles from Las
Vegas, so don't ask!)
