Hi Brian and team,

I can only agree with Jason,
I haven't found a better tool than FCW, and I too discovered it with
OS/2 many years ago when I used OS/2 for EEsofs RF-simulator Touchstone
and Libra (today Agilent ADS). It's many years since I stopped using
OS/2 but FCW is still my dear friend just as NC was when I had DOS 3.1
and just as Jason says I try to keep a floppy or USB stick ready with
FCW.

It's still not perfect, just as the world we live in, so I have tried to
suggest few improvements over the years but I guess I'm on your black
list as I typically end up in the big black hole (Yes, I also registered
FCW through your Danish contact many years ago).

Thanks also from me,
Bo in Finland (who tries to avoid using Vista and prefers to move to
Linux if XP would disappear)

Subject: [FC] File Commander 2.30 released

G'day Brian,

Just downloaded and installed to replace the 2.30 Dev version I've been
using very reliably. Whilst it doesn't quite do everything on my 64-bit
Vista machine .. I am so used to working inside the FC world, that I
still use it for everything I can, and very rarely will drag myself
kicking and screaming into the Vista Explorer to do the odd task that
requires it.

It must be at least 10 years since I first registered it (when I used it
to manage the IBM OS2 BBS in Sydney), and whatever it was that I paid
for it has been returned enough times over that I reckon it warrants me
registering again.

I know you're not going to grow rich on my 2 licenses, but I did want
you to know that this single tool is responsible for a significant
percentage of my productivity. I would be absolutely lost without it.
Over the years, I've gone from carrying a copy in my bag on 3.5" floppy
to CD to USB key .. sadly I had to move from OS2 to Windows somewhere in
there, but FC made that move much gentler by keeping my personal
interface with the file system consistent.

Thank you again, and please .. keep up the part time development!

Kind Regards,
Jason Meaden.

PS: BMT Micro still has 2.12 as the version .. should I wait for them to
update? (my ~10 year old registration key still works on 2.30 .. so I am
assuming it doesn't matter to you what version I register now .. but
will wait for your response to confirm)

Hi all,
After many years of very part time development I've put the finishing
touches on File Commander v2.30 and made it available for download. For
those of you who haven't been following the development versions, the
list of changes can be viewed at http://silk.apana.org.au/fc_230new.html

Enjoy!
