I am not sure how old Dixie Louise was when she left this world. She had lived with someone, had been spayed, had been thrown away (she showed up in the pine thicket behind my Mom's home where lots of cats are dumped/show up etc--they come to her home for food). She hung out at Mom's for quite a long time until I decided to take her to my personal vets to be spayed (long story, local vets were not an option at that time). She was with me three years and 12 days from the day I took her to Louisville. Best estimates are that she was 5-6 years old. I know people who have cared for FeLV+ cats for 13-15 years. Many FeLV- cats don't have the good fortune to live that long. On Aug 13, 2008, at 9:45 PM, Gloria B. Lane wrote: > Welcome to the list! I must admit, I feed pretty ordinary > food.
