This particular fiber sounds too felted for carding to be of use but, in general, the drum carder will revive flat fiber beautifully. I probably use my drum carder more for fluffing up old flat roving than almost anything else. One day I was fighting with some gnarly mohair roving and my fingers were aching with the effort. It dawned on me I could try to drum card it. I ran it through the carder and it became a dream to spin again! Definitely worth the time. Highly, highly recomend it to those with carders - even slightly felted roving is well worth the fluffing - try it you'll like it! Makes it just like new. Only downside is it will blend multicolored rovings a bit more than they were - but I have not found that to be a deterrent because the spinning is so much nicer. Julie
