I am having trouble updating gd2. When I try the upgrade process, I
get the message that I need to install automake1.11. Proceeding with
the install, fink downloads automake1.11 and starts the config
process. The install, however, hangs up upon a check of autoconf
version (must be greater than 2.61) (snippet below). The weird thing
is that a fink list of the installed autoconf gives the version as
2.63 which seems to be fine version wise. What is the scoop. Using
apt-get to install automake1.11 also seems to work (fink list
automake1.11 shows that it is installed), however, attempting to
update gd2 still attempts to install automake1.11 and has the same
error message as I reported above. Any suggestions as to what to
try. Fink seems to be broken here. By the way this is still Leopard
(latest version).
