Thanks Daniel,

I have rebuilt libsigc and glibmm and pango fails with the same error (I 
think it's the same error anyway). Here's the complete rebuild log:

Did I need to selfupdate again? (Because I didn't do that; I had assumed that 
you meant that this was an old packaging error and not a current one.)

Pending a response I'll try to selfupdate and I'll also try purging libsigc and 
then rebuilding once more.
