In fact is is true, Mageia use "-Werror=format-security" since a long
time and to build Firebird package for Mageia I had to disable this (by
chance I can using %define Werror_cflags %{nil} in the rpm spec file)
but it is bad from the distro point of view.
and now the same problem arise for Fedora
Any volunteer to work on a patch ?
