Craig, I do not have the exact combination you are asking about, but I have an Ameritron AL-572B amplifier that I used with my SDR-1000 before I upgraded to the FLEX-5000A.
Get a DB-15M connector, an RCA phone plug, & some 2-conductor wire and make a cable to have PowerSDR handle keying the amp. When making the cable, connect the center pin of the RCA phono plug to pin #7 of the 15-pin connector, & connect the shield of the phono plug to pin #15 of the 15-pin connector. Plug the 15-pin connector into the X2 connector on the rear of the SDR-1000 and plug the RCA phono plug into the "Relay" jack on the rear of the AL-811H. In PowerSDR, click on Setup==>General==>Options. Check the box labeled "Enable X2 TR Sequencing" and set the X2 Delay value to 20ms or greater. Click on the "X2TR" button on the main screen so that it is highlighted. Now, when youtransmit or when you push the Tune button on PowerSDR, the amp will be keyed. Adjust the power output while in tune mode to the level you want to use to tune the amp. You can actually leave the amp in the "Operate" position and enable/disable the amp with the X2TR button. However, for safety's sake, I always switched the amp itself to "Standby" when I wanted to run barefoot or when I changed bands. 73, Ray, K9DUR http://k9dur.info _______________________________________________ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flex-radio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flex-radio.com/ Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com
