I'm enjoying my Flex 3000 but have some nits to pick with the Tuner. Maybe there are improvements in store for the future on how the tuner operates but for now operation of the tuner is lacking. I do realize that the tuner is limited in it's design, but from an operations point of view, maybe it could be improved.
Call it my Flex 3000 Tuner wish list
1) No memories for the tuner.
With all the computer power involved in using a Flex, it would seem that the
tuner should be able to remember previous settings.
2) Slow to tune
This is also part of the memory question, but finding a match seems to take a
very long time. Could the tune algorithm be tweaked to speed things up?
3) Sticky tuner state
Some sort of sticky state where I can do a quick change of band for a listen
and then come back to my original band without having to force another long
tune. Right now if you are on say 20 meters, do a quick change to another band
and back, you drop the tuner state.
Notice no wish for a wider range tuner, that's the hardware and as been mooted
before, the tuner in the Flex 3000 is what it is.
Other Flex 3000 users, what is your experience with the tuner, got any tips?
