George,Core2Duo processors or better is what you want to run. Like Tim said, Wireless drivers and Bluetooth too waste alot of CPU time with overhead and should be disabled when running the radio, also turn off all the power saving utilities and force it to run in High Performance Power Options of Control panel.. Look at the DPCs, you will need to get those as low as you can, preferably under 500us.. A good video card in the laptop is a plus, but will cost $$. Get what you pay for, but expect to pay in $1000 range or better..
