I don't know without looking into the logfile, but if you use
'procmail' for local EMail delivery, then I'd recommend you to add such
a little clause to your ~/.procmailrc configuration to prvent local
delivery of duplicates:
:0 Wh: msgid.lock
| formail -D 8192 $HOME/.msgid.cache
