Hi William, If you have a sewingmachine that does zig-zag stitch, I think it is better to sew the panels with no overlap. If not, you can glue the panels overlapping each other and sew one or two seams to reinforce the glueing. If you have the extra material inside the hull directly under the stringers, you will eventually get problems when building up the boat. I think it is very difficult to get the material in the right place. Unfortunately my english is so bad, that I will point to the amateur boat builders corner.
