What kind of trouble do you have? With which type of spokeshave?

In (one of) my own spokeshave I modified the sole with a belt sander
to a little radius. The mouth width I reduced by distance brass sheets
under the blade. Further I tuned carefully the bed of the blade to
reduce chatter.
Then I added wooden handles in form of an eg to have a very fine
control about the angle in which the sole touches the wood.
Model of spokeshave: stanley #51 from flea market.
