Fossil has never been known to lose data. AFAIK it's the only SCM which can
make that claim. Even a rebuild fails horribly halfway through, the whole
thing is happening via an SQL transaction, so no data is lost (barring
horrible hardware corruption).

As Richard described: sync synchronizes the remote and local databases,
which (yes) includes the wiki and tickets. It doesn't update your local
files, though. (Because of that, sync can be performed without a checkout.)
