One other thing: you had to have some kind of step to deploy these. If it’s just a “cp” command, build that into a modified version of my ship script. Now you’ve just exchanged one command — which you had to give anyway — for another. The alternative you’ve been demanding is that someone else do a whole bunch of modifications to Fossil which the vast majority of the user base won’t want to use, either out of lack of need or out of philosophic disagreement.
