One technical solution to this used by Maemo news is blog scoring:
 - New blog entries get added to the top of the planet
 - Readers can vote +1 or -1 on an individual blog entry
 - A blog post getting saved in delicious, or linked to from another
blog, counts as a plus vote
 - Over time, blog entries with more negative votes are relegated & fall
off the planet, those with more positive votes stay near the top.
Positive votes are divided by the age of the post for this, to ensure
that even very popular posts eventually fall off.

It's a kind of diggy planet, done simply, which ensures that blog posts
which readers aren't interested in get relegated quickly. Might be worth
integrating this into planet?

Cheers,
Dave.
