So what does this mean for an old software app written with only ipv4 sockets procedures that is not updated to ipv6?

There are plenty of old windows nt apps or possibly even old fpc sockets apps that were only built for ipv4 at the time.

And what does it mean when an old ipv4 app connects to an ISP that is designed for ipv6?
