Bootlegger Beans Dice 3 strips of bacon and fry. When about half done, add a small chopped onion. When onion is slightly browned, pour off most of the grease and add one to four 16 oz. cans of pork and beans in tomato sauce, 1 Tablespoon of brown sugar, 2 Tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, and 2 Tablespoons of catsup. Stir well and cover. Let this simmer at least 30 minutes. It’s even better if you bake in the oven for 2 hours. You can also used canned Mexican chili beans instead for a different taste.
