http://www.worldfamousrecipes.org/appetizer-recipes/ Deep Fried Radishes 1 1/2 cups All-purpose flour 1/2 cup Cornstarch 1 teaspoon Baking powder Cold water as needed - Dipping Sauce 2 tablespoons Sugar 2 tablespoons Ketchup 2 tablespoons Cider vinegar 2 tablespoons Pineapple Soy sauce to taste 2 tablespoons Cornstarch (mixed with 2 tablespoons water) Vegetable oil for frying Sliced radishes Mix together with enough cold water to form the consistency of heavy cream. Make sure there are no lumps. Refrigerate until thoroughly chilled. Heat together sugar, ketchup, vinegar and juice in a small pan. Bring to a boil. Add enough soy sauce to color the mixture lightly. Then add the cornstarch/water mix. Return to boil and cook until thickened. Heat oil to 375º°. Dip radishes into the chilled batter, 2 to 4 minutes, and allow excess to drip off before placing it gently- use slotted spoon - in the hot oil. Remove with slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
