No it won't help as it's a bug in pygame-1.7release with Python-2.5. The problem is that there is a stack overwrite in pygame and Python-2.5. There are two fixes: 1) Use python 2.4 2) Apply the patch to pygame which in available from svn rel-1 contrib/patches. ubuntu is debian based, isn't it? I would be good for a debian user/developer to post a bug report there. There is nothing that can be done in freevo to fix or workaround this problem.
