These are long-time clients that used the system sucessfully with proftpd prior to the change, so we know that there's something going on with ftp.proxy or our configuration... Anyone else had similar issues or have any idea how to resolve this? Both result in the same syslog message. In standalone the daemon dies silently (to standard error and out at least). The options I select do not seem to matter and I have tried a variety of them to see if there is any difference. Would a truss of its execution in standalone mode be useful. (Unfortunately C has never been my strong point).
