g_b Phuket travel query

I am travelling to Phuket, alone,  during the Chinese New Year weekend. Since 
this is my first trip to the island, I would be obliged if members could advise 
me the following:

1.reasonably priced hotels;
2.availability of vegetarian food;
3.what activities I should not miss;
4.which places on the island I must visit;
5.whether 2 or 3 nights stay sufficient; and 
6. what items are considered "must buy'.

Further, is nudity tolerated on the island's beaches? Will a man in a g-string 
turn too many heads?
