Hi.
Haemodracon-species belong to a group of oldworld-geckos formerly known as Phyllodactylus. Nowadays only newworls-species still bear this name. The other ones are called:
Goggia (SouthAfrica)
Haemodracon (Sokotra-Island)
Euleptes (Mediterranean)
Dixonius (SE-Asia)
Cryptactites (S-Africa)
Afrogecko (S-Africa)
You can read about this in
Aaron M.Bauer, FDavid A. Good & William R.Branch:The TAxonomy of southern african leaf-toed geckos with a review of old world Phyllodactylus and the description of five new genera. Proceedings of the California Academyx of Sciences. Vol. 49, No. 14, pp.447-497. 1997.
As far as I know we got an institute in germany keeping at least one of the two Haemodracon-sp. I don`t know of any animals in private enclosures.
Greetings from Hamburg
Sven Vogler
