Hello -

No, I haven't heard vocalizations between the animals; however, the male that I observed changing color is very expressive with his voice when he wants to let you know to keep away from him, though he vocalizes less since he has reached maturity (I guess my hand is less scary now that he is bigger.

Have you heard them vocalize yet?

Thanks Julie -

I haven't seen him doing it since then, so maybe he was just having a
bad day! So, I'm guessing from your response that he was not doing it
because he was attracted to her...

I find their behavior fascinating to watch when I see something that I
haven't seen before, but I am often left wondering what the hell it
means.

Hey Dana,

Just give him a Prozac in his next babyfood batch! ;) For some reason,
he is riled up. Unless he stays dark I would not worry about it.

Hi All -

I have few Giant Day geckos, but I haven't mated any of them yet. I
noticed that one of the males, whose tank happens to be next to the
female's tank was changing colors today - he was going from dark
green to his normal lighter green color, and changing back and forth
several times in the few minutes that I had available to watch them
(I've never seen him do this before). I saw that he was staring at
her (I think), and I am wondering if this changing of color was
because he was attracted to her or was it territorial? I am inclined
to think it was territorial because he turned a dark color, which
they do when they are stressed, but I really have no idea. Any
thoughts from anyone? I really appreciate any feedback.

Thanks,
Dana
