I have the same problem with any image, larger or smaller than the screen size, but only when qeeqie is windowed: the bug do not appears if it is fullscreen or maximized if the window get redraw events, the black area disappear and the image is shown, both by moving the window out of the screen or moving another window on top also if the window is at the coordinates 0,0 (top left of the screen) the bug do not appears may be related to the graphic stack?
