With debian as with other recent distributions, there should be no problem as the current ssh implementations does work. Nevertheless, older putty implementations on windows don't. Your last login was 8 days bevore I did the change. you can check by "ssh g...@geeqie.org". If you get an error, you can even add -vvv but I expect your error message showing the problem right away.
