Hi everyone,

Jane Dawson, Regina Axelrod, and I plan to propose an ISA panel tentatively entitled, "A climate-driven nuclear renaissance? The implications of, and responses to, the return of nuclear power." This panel is intended as the seed of an edited volume on the subject. At this point we have one paper that presents the argument against "nuclear climate policy"; one paper that examines the lessons of the Finnish nuclear industry's success in moving forward with both a permanent waste disposal facility and new reactor construction; and one paper that explores the successes and failures of efforts to reinvigorate nuclear power elsewhere in Europe.

We invite proposals from anyone interested in contributing to this panel and, if all goes well, to a subsequent edited volume. Possible contributions include papers that present the argument FOR nuclear power, papers that examine the US experience, or papers that examine nuclear power policies elsewhere in the world.

Many thanks,
Rob Darst
