Dear Gep-Ed readers, some of you might know the work the European Environment Agency has been doing on "Late lessons from early warnings". We are currently playing around with the idea of reversing the analytical focus, i.e. a booklet that might be called "Late Benefits from Early Actions" which would be devoted to the social history of decisions made a longer time ago (even more than 100 years) that have proved on balance to be highly beneficial. The idea would be to provide a vivid picture of long term thinking and also to examine the conditions in which such decisions are made and the thought processes which led to them. We would be happy to get some input and ideas, especially as regards for: 1 How to get candidate case histories? 2 How to see if they already have been written up in the proper way? 3 How the could be summarized in an engaging way or done de novo? Best regards Axel ________________________ Dr. Axel Volkery Policy and Scenario Analysis European Environment Agency Kongens Nytorv 6 1050 Copenhagen K [EMAIL PROTECTED] www.eea.europa.eu
