The parents decided to take up the issue with authorities, when four youth were held by Ponda police on December 15, on charges of fights, which allegedly erupted over a 'girl'. A delegation, which included former Ponda councillor Naguesh Priolkar, Dilip Dhapeshwarkar and Sadanand Dessai, informed Police Inspector Naresh Mhamal that a number of youth with dubious intentions would gather outside the education institution and would pass snide comments at female students passing by the road. While also mentioning that many youth ride two-wheelers at high speeds, merely to draw the attention of the female students, the aggrieved parents requested the Ponda police to take action against such elements. --------------------------------- HERALD 18/12/02 page --------------------------------- ======================================= GOA DESC RESOURCE CENTRE Documentation + Education + Solidarity 11 Liberty Apts., Feira Alta, Mapusa, Goa 403 507 Tel: 2252660 mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] website: www.goadesc.org ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Working On Issues Of Development & Democracy ======================================= ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ To unsubscribe from Goanews Send a mail message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] containing the line: 'unsubscribe goanews'
