I have a doodle/marginalia of a woman smoking a small black pipe which is in a French manuscript dated 1318. Since smoking did not occur in Europe until the 16th century, I am assuming that this doodle is a later addition.
However, she is wearing distinctive head wear, and I am wondering if she can be more closely dated based on this item of clothing. If anyone would be willing to take a look, I would be happy to send the picture as a jpg. Thank you.
