** BRAZIL [non]. 11780, April 19 at 1348, JBA carrier; could RNA/RNB be back? No, scheduled this hour is CRI Myanmarianese via Kunming. I`ve ceased reporting non-logs of 6180 and this, but keep checking in case they ever recur (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** CHINA [and non]. 15110, April 19 at 1357, a very wobbly carrier gets our attention, unlike all other weak signals on 19m. Probably Doppler flutter caused by unstable ionosphere rather than transmission defect. Scheduled is VOA Chinese via THAILAND, and consequently ChiCom *jamming. Still wobbling but weaker after 1400, when the site changes to PHILIPPINES for another hour (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** CHINA. 5979, April 20 at 1227, JBA carrier indicating 15 kW PBS Gannan is still on this strange frequency instead of original 5970 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** CUBA [and non]. 6100, April 20 at 1229, RHC Spanish with FE CCI, presumably CRI Russian, 500 kW, 55 degrees from Beijing site during this hour. Maybe not such a good idea for RHC to activate the same frequency previously on at 0500-0700 only in English; also new on // 6060, old 6000 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** EAST TURKISTAN. 5060, 4980, 4850, 4500, April 20 at 1224, JBA carriers, all matching the four domestic language services of PBS Xinjiang, Urumqi. 4850 is a bit stronger, rather than Chinese 5060. All barely detectable vs S9+10 local line noise level on 59-66m. These run November-April only, per WRTH, replaced May-October by frequencies in the 7, 9 and 11 MHz bands (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** KUWAIT. 15540, April 19 at 1759, VP carrier, 1800 some music, probably national anthem with R. Kuwait opening reactivated trihour in English. I`ve yet to see logs of any other transmissions resumed since this appeared a dekaday ago (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 1874, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** MEXICO. 800, April 20 at 1303 UT, after Mex NA, sign-on by a station with address in Ciudad Juárez, seems to mention FM 102.7. As usual, a struggle to copy weak signal, no borderblaster, with near-local KQCV OKC nulled as much as possible. XEROK, Radio Cañón is not known to have an FM, but adding that is certainly the trend on both sides of la frontera. Wikipedia gives website as http://calibre800.com/ but that`s the newscast it carries, not the station per se, and no sign of an FM mentioned there. 102.7 may be wrong, as there is a K-love translator on that in nearby Anthony TX, altho as such would be subject to bumping by a US non-translator, and presumably Mexican (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** NEW ZEALAND. 11725, April 20 at 0555, RNZI inbooming at S9+20, 0600 news, while the rest of 25 and even 31m are virtually dead. Location3! (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** OKLAHOMA. 1390, April 20 at 0609 UT, local KCRC is open carrier/dead air. STILL so at next check 1211 UT --- I bet it was thus all night, no one caring or noticing at station which lost plugin from a sports network. Sibling 107.1 KNID is still alive at 1221 UT check, you bet! That`s what matters. By next check 1345 UT, KCRC has resumed stupid sportstalk. Lack of splatter made DXing 1380 and 1400 easier, but nothing definite; two SS on 1380, probably Houston and Tulsa (Glenn Hauser, Enid, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 1873 monitoring: confirmed Wednesday April 19 at 1315 on WRMI 9955, fair above pulse jamming; tnx a lot, Arnie! Also confirmed Wed Apr 19 at 2100 on WBCQ webcast, but 7490 not checked. VM has been running during this slot for weeks, tho never appearing on the schedule grid and now I can`t get it to finish loading for another check (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) UNIDENTIFIED. 6780, April 19 at 0543, S9-S6 AM carrier; still there at 1305, weakening by 1354. 6780 is probably an ISM Part 15 device, like could be on its second harmonic frequency 13560, where nothing in particular is now audible (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) This report dispatched at 1652 UT April 20 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/ _______________________________________________ THE INFORMATION IN THIS ARTICLE IS FREE.
