The areas in the parcellation aren't points, and their shapes can be quite important. See this figure, and the long, thin areas in and around the central sulcus:
https://balsa.wustl.edu/WN56 Additionally, many areas occur in a different location relative to folding patterns, when found in individual subjects, and even individual subject folding patterns aren't always aligned by volume registration, so group coordinates aren't a particularly good way to define or locate an area. You can get the coordinates of the vertices in an area in a subject without any issues, though, by reading the individual subject's surfaces.
