This series of photos shows the process involved in preparing a dog
for dinner, from slautering to cutting-up, eviscerating, be-boning,
sausage-making, cooking and of course eating! I do not personally
condone cruelty to animal (any animal), and these photos are not for
promoting the asian tradition of eating dog. But do you really think
that eating a dog is worse than eating a cow, a pig, a lamb or a
chichen?
These photos were taken one evening of November 2005. The first
series (up to the dinner) was taken in Bac Ha, a small town in the
Northern part of Vietnam, not far from the Chinese border.

His personal comment on dog meat eating

"no, it was not my Christmas dinner. i had dog last month. i posted
it today because i had time to process some of those interesting
(and maybe disturbing, for some people) photos.

dog meat is indeed very good. it a very red meat, like lamb, but it
tastes much better than most animals meat. i'd say it compares with
the best venison i've had. also, when cooked, it smells really good.
in fact it started smelling yummy as soon as they singed the
carcass! the best tasting part (to me) is the red meat, but they eat
every part and organ, like they do with every type of animal. the
roasted sausages (or should i say hot dogs?) made with the dog's
guts, bood and brain were no bad either, but i was not fan of
the "bacon" (skin and fat below) and of the paws (lots of cartilage).
i had no personal feeling for this animal, by the way. i never saw
it alive, i arrived just after they had slit its throat and bled it,
which is how the kill every animal and bird in asia. this way to
kill animals, by the way, is considered "humane" since the animal
passes out quite painlessly when it looses all its blood. and of
course, the dogs that are eaten have no name and are no-one's pet,
they are bred just like pigs and chickens, in farms."

click the link to bring up a Help form...try the report abuse one
