Thanks for the input, folks- I have used zither pins; they seem to work fine but I just don't find them appealing - the "older-looking" style seem a more appropriate aesthetic. I haven't had a chance to look into harp or harpiscord components.
It seems like you can buy almost any other pre-fab hurdy-gurdy part: knobs, S-shaped cranks, shafts and bearings, even fully carved tuning heads, but no sympathetic pegs. Well, like I said, I haven't persued the other leads. Maybe I'll try to make some... some year! ~ Matt
