PAS : KE ARAH PEMERINTAHAN ISLAM YANG ADIL

It was a routine operation that turned ugly and landed a restaurant owner in hospital
with a broken arm and facial injuries.
This happened last night during a Majlis Perbandaran Shah Alam(MPSA) operation on
errant restaurant owners at Taman TTDI Jaya in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia.
Nasi Lemak Restoran owner Mohd.Soki Mahmud, 26 suffered a broken arm and cut on face
when he fell down after being allegedly punched by one of the enforcement officers.
The incident took place at Jalan U2/G about 9:00pm when MPSA officers in 4 lorries and
vans arrived and started confiscating tables and chairs placed on the road in front of
the restaurant.
A witness and a regular patron of the restaurant, Feirouez Yusoh, 26 said the officers
barged in and started taking out tables and chairs without any warning.
"They asked the customers to leave their meals; some threw plates on the ground and
carried away the tables and chairs onto the lorries," he said.
He said while the officers were busy doing that, he saw Mohd.Soki approaching an
officer in one of the lorries. "All of a sudden, I saw him falling to the ground.
There was blood on his face," he said.
Another witness, Shahrizan Shaharuddin, 17 who is Mohd.Soki's step-brother, said his
brother went to the lorry to seek an explanation from the officer.
"I saw the officer punching my brother on the face. He fell to the ground and broke
his left arm," said Shahrizan, who has been helping his brother run the restaurant
since last March. "Seeing this my friends and I rushed to the officer for an
explanation. He gave no response and asked the driver to move."
Shahrizan claimed that they later approached a senior official but again did not get
any response.
"This is too much. They are resorting to violence now. They can issue us fines or
take our things away but they should never assult people," he said.
Mohd.Soki was later taken to the Selangor Medical Centre for treatment by a local
resident. He also lodge a police report at Section 11 pilice station, Shah Alam.
