Hi Fabricio, Sure, this is the right way to update translation files for OTRS. I have integrated your file in our source code control system, and it will be bundled in the upcoming patch release for OTRS, 2.4.8.
So, if you'd want to contribute an update to an existing translation, please grab the latest version of that file from our site at http://source.otrs.org/viewvc.cgi/otrs/Kernel/Language/ - then apply your changes, and send the results in via this mailing list or via a bug in the bugzilla. Please note that OTRS also has lots of modules that have their own translation files, such as FAQ, Survey and ITSM. You can see which language files need maintenance over here: http://users.otrs.com/~me/i18n/ If you just have a couple of improvements for an existing language file, maybe just some word that needs updating, please discuss here on the list and we'll pick it up.
