Message just came across the list a few days ago...check the back archives...oh what the heck..here it is re-posted.... ****************************************************************** On Sat, 30 Jan 1999, thus spoke Shing-Gene Yung: >The kernel guys recommend getting the latest SysVinit tools and when >calling "halt" use the -p flag. Just made a quick change to the /etc/rc.d/init.d/halt script and now the system powersdown no problem. Thanks! Linux will not power down the computer on a system halt. I have enabled the option in the kernel and have chosen exactly the same APM options as for 2.0.36. It worked fine in 2.0.36. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks very much in advance.
